Fewer problems than most cherries, but can be attacked by borers, tent caterpillar and leaf spots.   This tree tends to have a short lifespan, about 30 years.
 
Additional Notes
In general plants belonging to the genus Prunus are prone to a number of disease and insect problems and also tend to be short-lived; Prunus maackii tends to have fewer problems than many Prunus and is longer lived (maybe 30 years or so).
