Features
Bottlebrush-like clusters of small, white, fragrant flowers in spring; autumn color is a mix of yellow, orange and red.
Culture
Full sun to partial shade; moist, well-drained soils; prefers slightly acid soil, but tolerates neutral soil.
Cultivars
- 'Blue Mist' - Blue summer foliage, autumn color less intense than that of the species.
- 'Mt. Airy' - Blue-green foliage, excellent autumn color, flowers heavily, usually stays under 5 feet (sometimes considered a cultivar of Fothergilla major)
