Evergreen needles; dense, pyramidal habit. 
 
Culture
Full sun, but can also tolerate light shade; moist, well drained soils, but tolerates dry and wet sites to some degree; tolerates alkaline sites. 
 
Cultivars

'Densata' (Black Hills Spruce)- slower growing than the species, dense conical shape.

Other cultivars are available, some are dwarf.
