Leaf spots, powdery mildew, aphids, plant hoppers, scale are possible. These problems seldom become serious. Russian aphid is a serious problem on this species.
 
Additional Notes
This species can be weedy. Birds eat the fruit and spread them. All honeysuckle shrubs require annual pruning to keep them in good shape and at a good size.
