Evergreen foliage is attractive, varying from green to green mixed with white or yellow (depending on cultivar selected).
Culture
Sun to shade; moist, well drained soils are best, but also tolerates dryness; tolerant of alkaline soils.
Cultivars
Numerous cultivars ar available, but they vary in their cold hardiness. Some common cultivars are:
- 'Coloratus'- 1 foot tall; green leaves that turn red-purple in winter; hardy to zone 5.
- 'Gold Prince'-2 feet tall; new foliage bright gold, changing to green with age.
- 'Vegetus'-green leaves, hardy to zone 5.
