Upright grass with leaves emerging bright green with red tips in the spring changing to blood red by fall. Rarely flowers.

'Red Barron' will occasionally revert back to the green form which can then become invaisive. Remove the green types before they get established.
Twenty five states have prohibited the planting of Japanese Blood Grass. Check with local Department of Agriculture concerning any restrictions before planting.
