Annie Hobson empowers youth to become active leaders in their communities through the development of innovative and culturally relevant adolescent programs. As an experienced youth professional, she trains and educates youth organizations on how to implement successful youth‐focused programs, using the Youth Development Framework. Annie helps young people develop into positive community members who actively advocate for community change and equality.
Antionette “Annie” Hobson serves as the 4-H Youth Development Educator for metro programming in Winnebago County-Rockford. She provides leadership to 4-H in several areas including but not limited to: curriculum development, program implementation, positive youth development training for youth organizations, youth leadership, volunteer management and adult-youth mentorships.
Additionally, Annie partners with the City of Rockford, Rockford Public Schools, Rockford Park District and many other community entities to develop 4-H programs and other positive learning opportunities for youth.
Annie holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a Master of Science in Human Services from Capella University. She is focused on youth empowerment, youth involvement and advocating for all young people.
Annie is a native of Rockford and she enjoys cooking, basketball, music, exploring new cultures and spending time with her family. Annie states that, "We cannot expect our youth to become outstanding citizens if we as adults have not provided them with the proper tools to do so."
