McHenry County Home and Community Education (HCE)

McHenry County Home and Community Education (HCE)

Who We Are

McHenry County Home and Community Education (HCE) is an educational and community service organization of approximately 100 members, working to promote social and economic well-being in our homes and neighborhoods for more than 90 years in McHenry County.

Approximately 12,000 IAHCE members residing throughout Illinois volunteer their time, skills and energy to improve their lives in home and community. McHenry County HCE members meet monthly, hold special events in community places, participate in community and Extension events, provide other Community Service, attend conferences, and serve on local, regional and state organization boards and committees. HCE members become trainers on vital issues. Lessons for Living, offered by the University of Illinois Extension and HCE are open to the public for a nominal fee. They also offer other lessons given their own expertise. HCE women have been improving home life, neighbor to neighbor, consistently, for more than 90 years. If you are not a member, most likely someone in your family has been. But we would love to see you join us too!

Our objectives are:

To bind together the County Associations of the state; To promote the well being of the individual and family; To bring about a better understanding of the home, community, state and nation; To speak for and further the interests of the family and community.

Please call University of Illinois Extension - McHenry County for more information about HCE clubs and programming in the community.

All programs are held at the University of Illinois Extension, 1102 McConnell Road in Woodstock unless otherwise noted.

Call the Extension office for reservations or for more information at 815-338-3737.
