Interested in Volunteering?

Certified Instructors - Men and Women, ages 21 and older, are eligible to apply to become Shooting Sports Instructors. Shooting Sports Instructors are required to go thru training held by the Illinois 4-H Office. This training is offered twice a year, fall and spring, at 4-H Camp in Monticello, IL.

Instructor Assistants - Men and Women, ages 19 and older, are eligible to apply to become Shooting Sports Instructor Assistants. Assistants are required to go thru training held by the Sangamon-Menard 4-H Shooting Sports board and 4-H Staff.

All 4-H volunteers begin the application process by completing a 4-H Volunteer packet.

What disciplines we are able to offer in our county, and how many participants we can successfully accomodate, depends on the number of volunteers we have that are willing to get trained to work with our program, as well as availability of sites and equipment. If you have time available to volunteer, or resources that could help support our shooting sports program, please contact 4-H Program Coordinator, Sharon Lounsberry, at 782-4617, or slounsbe@illinois.edu
