Alcha started with Extension in 2014 serving McLean County as the Metro 4-H Program Coordinator working with our Youth Development team to sustain and build 4-H Programming with a focus on Bloomington-Normal. In her new position as educator, she strives to continue serving our 4-H youth by promoting personal growth, team building skills, leadership and community service opportunities as well as providing programing that aligns with STEM and STEAM initiatives.
Originally from Livingston County, Alcha graduated from Pontiac Township High School and then attended Northern Michigan University where she earned a B.A. in English and an M.A in English: Writing and Pedagogy. She moved back to the central Illinois area after college. Prior to Extension she worked for three years as a teaching assistant in the El Paso-Gridley grade schools. She resides in El Paso with her husband.
