Washing removes bacteria physically and some soaps kill bacteria. Unfortunately, most people don’t wash their hands as often as they think they do.

  • Use the toilet.
  • Change diapers.
  • Handle garbage or dirty dishes.
  • Touch your hair, body or other people.

Handwashing technique...

  • Turn on water as hot as comfortable.
  • Wet hands.
  • Add soap and lather for 20 seconds.
  • Rinse hands under water.
  • Dry with paper towels or air-dry.
