Winter Extension Programs

Researchers from the University of Illinois are poised to deliver timely research-based recommendations through conferences scheduled in several locations around the state of Illinois this winter.

2012 Farm Economics Summit - December 10 - 14, 2012 - Five locations

The team of agricultural economists that brings you online economic information on farmdoc and farmdocDAILY is traveling around the state i next week to present the 2012 Illinois Farm Economics Summit, entitled: "The Profitability of Illinois Agriculture: Managing in a Turbulent World".

This morning program will be held next week beginning Monday in Champaign, moving to Sycamore on Tuesday, on to Galesburg on Wednesday, to Mt. Vernon on Thursday, finishing up this whorl-wind tour in Bloomington on Friday. Advance registration is $65 while same-day registration is $75 although seating may be limited.

2013 Corn & Soybean Classics - January 7 - 9 and 14 - 16, 2013 - Six locations

Researchers including an agronomist, an agricultural economist, an entomologist, a soil scientist, a plant pathologist, a weed scientist, and an agricultural economist from the University of Illinois and beyond are pleased to share their most current research findings at the 2013 Corn & Soybean Classics.

This one day program is held in January at six locations around the state including Moline, Champaign, Mt. Vernon, East Peoria, Springfield, and Malta. Registration will only take place during December: advance registration (Dec. 1-16) is $60 and later registration (Dec. 17-Jan 1) is $75.

Continuing education units for Certified Crop Advisors have been applied for.

2013 Illinois Crop Management Conferences - January and February - Four locations

The 2013 Illinois Crop Management Conference agenda is set and registration is now open. University of Illinois campus-based researchers and field-based Extension Educators will present this very diverse program. This two-day conference will include information from many different areas of interest including: professional development and soil and water, integrated pest, soil nutrient, and crop management. Advance registration (up to 1 week prior to the conference) is $130 and later registration is $150.

This conference is a great opportunity for Certified Crop Advisors to earn continuing education units, with thirteen total CEUs available.
