Provide good air circulation around plants. Phlox are heavy feeders. Need frequent division to keep vigorous. May require staking.
Phlox stolonifera (woodland phlox) a good choice in the shade as it is shade tolerant.
Phlox subulata(creeping phlox) good choice as an early spring blooming groundcover. Needs well-drained soil in order to survive long term.
