Host Richard Hentschel talks with Laura Barr, Nutrition and Wellness Educator about the value fruits and vegetables provide by supplying antioxidants for our bodies good health. The common ones we hear about are beta carotene, ascorbic acid, folic acid and vitamin E. These antioxidants neutralize the harmful oxidants in our blood and bodies and can help in the repair of damaged cells. These antioxidants are found in fruits and vegetables we eat every day. Our fruit and vegetable plants naturally contain these as part of their own system to help them remain healthy too.
