Host Richard Hentschel discusses more of October garden activities that include late season watering, especially of our newly planted trees, shrubs and evergreens as well as established broad leaved evergreens. Mowing should continue late into the season as long as the lawn continues to grow. Fall fertilization of the lawn is something to be done yet, as is a weed control treatment. Late season weed control also leaves your garden beds open and gives a head start on next spring. Use leaves and clean plant parts could be used to build a compost pile
