Julie Ritchey is the Regional Director for the University of Illinois Extension in Region 3. In her role as Regional Director, Julie provides leadership and vision for the development and delivery of statewide educational initiatives. She is responsible for the managemnt of the field operations for the Region serving 48 counties. In addition, Julie implements policies and procedures and supports academic and program staff in the Region. Julie serves as a member of the Extension Leadership Team for the University of Illinois, Champaign campus.
Julie joined Extension in 2006. She has served as the County Director for Randolph County and for Unit 26, serving Franklin, Williamson, Perry, Randolph and Jackson counites. Prior to joining Extension, Julie spent 11 years at Rend Lake College serving in a variety of leadership roles, including Director of TRIO:Student Support Services, Campus Tutoring and Learning Enhancement Center.
Professional affilations include Extension Partners, Joint Council of Extension Professionals and the past President of Epsilon Sigma Phi. She is a Rotarian and a Sigma Sigma Sigma Alumni. Julie also serves on a number of Extension commitees. Ritchey holds facilitator certifications in COLORS, Generations and Franklin Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Program.
Ritchey holds a master's degree in education administration and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Eastern Illinois University.
