Features
Hybrid
Rugosa rose with light pink blooms 3 inches wide, double (petal count 17-25) with a very strong fragrance. Elongated matte green foliage. Stems are very smooth, free of prickles, and get darker in color as winter approaches. Good contrast in winter. No significant fruit set.
Culture
Full sun, moist, well-drained soils. Prune by the renewal method removing about one-third of the oldest canes to the soil line in the spring as needed to keep the shrub open and new canes in production. Prune the stem back to a branch angle (a process called heading back) as needed to reduce width and height.
Notes
One of the best Canadian Explorer roses.
