Hardiness Zone: 5 - 7 
Mature Height: 8-10 Feet
Mature Width: 9-12 Feet
Features: Lacecap type flower clusters (showy, sterile flowers in a ring around smaller, fertile flowers); flowers white in mid spring; bright red fruit in clusters in late summer, turning blue-black; autumn color is reddish purple.
Culture: Full sun to partial shade; moist, well drained soil is best.
Cultivars:
  • 'Fireworks' - Large (6 inch diameter) flower clusters.
  • 'Mariesii' - 6-10 feet tall, large flower clusters held above the foliage, fruits heavily, hardy to at least the southern half of zone 5.
  • 'Pink Beauty'- Pink flowers, hardy only to zone 6.
  • 'Popcorn'- Large (6 inch diameter) flower clusters, hardy to zone 5.
  • 'Shasta' - 6 feet tall, but 10-12 feet wide, large clusters of white flowers, bright red fruit turning black.
Mature Form: Broad; branches growing very horizontal, giving the shrub a tiered appearance.
