Donna Nuger continues her service to University of Illinois Extension as the Metro Youth Development Educator serving youth in the urban areas of DuPage, Kane and Kendall counties. Nuger began her career with University of Illinois Extension in 2004 as the Youth Development Educator for Kankakee County.

Health Jam has inspired youth to consider health careers and how to live a healthier lifestyle. This urban program reached out to youth in Elgin providing workshops with health care and fitness professionals and provide educational experiences that inspire health, and safety awareness followed by 8 weekly classes to support continued healthy choices. Extension's educational mission was furthered through work on committees on the local regional and state level.

4-H Robotics SPIN Clubs have increaded steadily in both size and number under Nuger's leadership. Teens have increased their leadership ability through 4-H Science Ambassadors. These young people utilize their interest in science and increase their ability to lead others by developing short term workshops and walk-by STEM related activities for younger children. Opportunities for personal growth have been offered to the teens through conferences at National 4-H Conference Center.

Nuger received her B.S. in Animal Science from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her Master of Arts in Teaching degree from National-Louis University. She has been a very active volunteer with Girl Scouts, Boys Scouts, her local school board, Lyons Township Dog Training Club, People to People Student Ambassador Program and Garden Clubs of Illinois Board. Her contributions have been in the area of volunteer development, youth education and environmental issues. Nuger's service to youth has been recognized by National Association of Extension 4-H Agents Achievement in Service Award, Excellence in Urban Programming and the Honor Pin by Girl Scouts of the USA.
