Brittnay started with Extension in December 2012 serving Macon, Piatt, and DeWitt Counties as the Horticulture Program Coordinator. In June 2013, she had the opportunity to transfer to the Livingston, McLean and Woodford County unit as a Horticulture Program Coordinator. As of August 2017, her new role is Horticulture Educator in the unit. Her work will focus on youth horticulture education, specifically through school gardens and Jr. Master Gardener programs.


She provides leadership for the Livingston, McLean and Woodford County Master Gardeners, and is responsible for developing community programs and providing expertise in Horticulture and Environmental Sciences.


Raised on a grain farm in McLean County, Brittnay attended Tri-Valley High School and Illinois State University where she earned a B.S. in Ag Business and a M.S. in Ag Science, with a focus in Horticulture. During her tenure at ISU, she was employed by the ISU Horticulture Center, an outside laboratory for students and the public garden space for the community.
