Bronwyn began working for the University of Illinois in April 1999 as a Research Specialist in horticulture food crops at the Dixon Springs Agricultural Center.  After a few years, she was promoted to Senior Research Specialist.  During this time, she was responsible for planning, coordinating, conducting, and analyzing applied research projects for specialty crops, including small fruit, vegetable, and tree fruit; as well as delivering research results to producers and stakeholders, both regionally and statewide.

Bronwyn received her Master of Science degree from the University of Illinois in 2008 and her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Southern Illinois University in 1998.

In 2011, Bronwyn elected to leave the University in order to stay at home with her young children.  During this same time, she also began a small strawberry farm at her home in Pope County.  Combining the research and education experience gained while working at DSAC with her own “on farm” experiences, Bronwyn has a good understanding of the overall needs of specialty crop producers within the region.

As an Extension Educator for Local Foods Systems and Small Farms, Bronwyn provides research based information and educational programs for farmers, community members, decision-makers, and others involved in local food systems.  She provides educational resources for small farm producers as well as outreach to communities on issues related to local food systems.
