Features: Mottled, flaky bark; yellow-brown fall color.
Culture: Full sun; best in moist, well drained soils, but tolerate of dry sites as well; tolerant of air pollution and high soil pH.
Cultivars: 'Bloodgood', 'Columbia' and 'Liberty' all show resistance to anthracnose.
Mature Form: Open, somewhat irregular and wide-spreading.
