Social Services Showcase - Decatur CARE Fair connects community with needed services

November 15, 2017 (9:00 AM - 4:30 PM )

University of Illinois Extension Macon County
3351 N. President H. Brown Blvd.
Decatur, IL 62521 (Macon County)

“The Social Services Showcase is an opportunity for social service agencies in the area to present what they can offer the community to fellow professionals including school social workers and parent liaisons.  Over a networking lunch, people can make connections to collaborate with one another on a more personal level as well as ask questions. The Social Services Showcase will begin at 11:30 am and the CARE Fair will start at 3 pm.”

Decatur is a community known for its generosity when it comes to helping those in need. That giving spirit will be on display at the Decatur CARE Fair – Community Assistance and Resource Education. Community members will have an opportunity to learn what area social service agencies can provide and talk with representatives one-on-one at a convenient location without an appointment.

Join us from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 15 in the Illini Room at the Macon County Extension Office located at 3351 N. President Howard Brown Blvd. in Decatur. The CARE Fair is free and open to the public. Door prizes and giveaways will be available.

If you need more information, please contact Sarah Van Rheeden at or call 217.877.6042. This event is possible due to a partnership between Good Samaritan Inn and University of Illinois Extension’s SNAP-Ed program.

Illinois SNAP-Ed helps those in need make heathier choices by reaching out to people in their communities through education and hands-on skill building activities. In 2016, University of Illinois Extension Macon County’s SNAP-Ed program served 7,133 program participants.

University of Illinois Extension provides equal opportunities in programs and employment. If you need reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, please call 217.877.6042.
