Plan to attend the 2018 Home, Lawn and Garden Day sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension McLean County Master Gardeners. Turn March into magic with educational workshops, inspirational speakers and horticulture treasures from local garden centers and artisans.

The $50 registration fee covers lunch and these highlights:

  • Keynote speaker, Susan Martin, a garden communicator and consultant based, will talk on “Gold Standard Perennials” and how to choose the best perennials for your garden.
  • Morning Session with U of I Extension Master Gardner Coordinator “High Impact: Low Work Shrubs for you Flower Garden” planting more perennials for less maintenance
  • 3 Workshops (Choose from over 35!)
  • 1 Mini-Session with Ella Maxwell, Horticulturalist Hoerr Nursery- “Be First on Your Block: What’s New at eh Garden Center for 2018”
  • Vendors and Exhibitors
  • Door Prizes
  • Silent Auction to benefit local Master Gardener projects


Online registration will open on January 8, 2018. Register early for workshop choices — First-come, first served. Registration closes February 22, 2018 or when registration reaches 260 attendees. Cancellations will be accepted until February 22, 2017 for a full refund; no refunds will be granted after February 22.
