Master Gardener Training Starts this August - Apply Now!

June 28 - July 15, 2019

From the gardens to the classrooms, Master Gardeners influence and teach friends, neighbors, and communities how to grow!

Apply NOW to start your journey with us beginning August 21 through November 13.

Vegetable Gardening • Insects • Tree and Small Fruits • Basic Botany • Integrated Pest Management • Turfgrass Care • Plant Diseases • Landscaping • Wildlife Management • Soils and Fertilizer • Flower Gardening • Woody Ornamentals

Upcoming Training: McLean County (1615 Commerce Parkway, Bloomington)
University of Illinois Extension Educators and State Specialists provide the training for Master Gardeners. Classes are conducted weekly (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) beginning August 23 through November 8. There is a $225 registration fee for the training (this includes all classes and a Master Gardener manual).

**Financial Assistance may be available to qualified individuals, please contact our office with questions.**

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Answering telephone or e-mail questions about gardening 
  • Staffing plant clinics or farmers markets
  • Speaking to local organizations
  • Working on committees to plan community events
  • Establishing demonstration or community gardens
  • Conducting programs with youth, the elderly or the disabled
  • Writing newspaper articles
