Are there things in your life that you’ve wanted to accomplish but haven’t?  What’s the secret to successful aging?  How can the practice of mindfulness decrease your stress and increase your life satisfaction?  The University of Illinois Extension Let’s Live Well series can help you find the answers to these questions and more! University of Illinois Extension offers programs create learning partnerships that put knowledge to work and aim to make life better, healthier, safer, and more profitable for individuals and their communities. 

Join Extension Educator, Karla Belzer for a three-part series featuring timely, researched informed information to help you live well!  All series sessions will be held at the Thomson Public Library, 1005 West Main Street, in Thomson and are free and open to the public.

“Someday is Today:  Live Your Bucket List” will be offered on Thursday, March 22nd at 10:30 a.m.  This session will feature practical ways to create your own bucket list and set exciting goals to pursue your interests and fulfill your dreams. 

The second session of the series, “I’m Positive, I’m Aging,” will be offered on Tuesday, April 10th at 10:30 a.m. and will explore the characteristics of positive aging to make the most of our later years.  There will also be discussion on ageism and how it affects those of all ages, as well as the many similarities older generations have with younger ones.    

The final session of the series, “Being Mindful in a Busy World,” will be offered on Thursday, May 17th at 10:30 a.m.  This session will help participants explore the benefits of mindfulness meditation and teach techniques that reduce stress and increase life satisfaction.
