Join the Vermilion County Master Gardeners for their annual Garden Day Workshop and Spring Festival. This year the workshop will take place on Saturday, March 8 from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM at CrossRoads Christian Church (3613 N Vermilion, Danville, IL).
Featured speakers this year include:
- Susan Biggs-Warner- Susan oversees the Herb Garden at Kennekuk County Park and is well known for her interesting and entertaining presentations "Cooking with Herbs".
- Scott Elrick: A 300-million year-old fossilized rainforest near Danville was discovered in 2007 Scott will present "The Geologic Secrets of the Danville, IL Fossilized Forest" .
- Janet Machunovich Keynote Speaker- Janet is a well known author of numerous books on Garden Landscape Design. She will present "Design a Garden with 8 Months of Non-Stop Color"
If you pre-register for the event, the cost is $20 (includes a delicious homemade lunch prepared from scratch by Master Gardeners and a tote bag filled with goodies). If you register at the door, the cost is $25.
There is no charge to shop with the vendors at the Spring Festival. Choose from a wide array of vendors selling everything from jewelry to plants to yard art. There will be loads of door prizes, raffle items, and a silent auction.
This is an Award Winning Annual Event filled with educational speakers, shopping, prizes and delicious food!
Profits are used to fund and maintain Master Gardener Projects in Vermilion County.
