Although bluebirds and barn owls live in east central Illinois most homeowners rarely see them in the backyard. How does one attract these two very different and equally fascinating birds?
Dr. Wendy Brown and Stephanie Loveless from the DACC biology department will share their experiences working with bluebirds and owls at the DACC farm.
The owl boxes out at the farm are built to attract barn owls, which are an endangered species. Bluebird populations are also decreasing. Learn how you can help by providing nesting boxes which imitate the cavity nests these species require in nature.
There is no charge for this program but we ask that you please register at our website or call the Vermilion County Extension Office at 217-442-8615 so we have enough handouts for all attendees.
