The April meeting minutes will be sent out in the near future by Margaret Larson. The summer 4-H Fair visits were discussed and everyone was in favor of continuing this as our summer meeting.

Margaret presented a powerpoint giving an overview of Extension and the Extension Council.

The following officers were elected for the coming year:

Chairperson – Don Klinger, Jo Daviess County

Vice Chairperson – Beth Baranski, Jo Daviess County

Secretary – Mike Shore, Stephenson County

Margaret thanked Monica for serving the past two years as Chairperson.

We reviewed the visit by Dean Kidwell on June 6.

There was no discussion or comments regarding staff reports.

Program Planning – Grant McCarty reviewed – see hand out.

Staffing updates – Winnebago has two new community workers in SNAP Ed and another starting hopefully by Christmas. They are in the process of interviewing four candidates for the Commercial Agriculture Educator. This person will be primarily based in our unit but will help cover much of northwest Illinois.

Dean Kidwell has been here for a year and she is making some changes. See handouts for the local information regarding the budget. Margaret reviewed the FY 18 budget for the Unit 1.

Ray and Jeff gave a report on their Extension State Advisory Council meeting yesterday and today.

Margaret will send out a doodle poll for the scheduling the December/April meetings. With no further business the meeting adjourned to discuss individual county concerns at 7:21 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Michael J. Shore, secretary
