I have an small (about 10 years old) oak tree in my back yard that just recently has, what appears to the naked eye, a HUGE, VERY DENSE cob-web growing up to the top of the tree on the trunk/branches only....what is this? I've attempted to remove what I can, but it goes clear to the top and is THICK on the branches...I've never seen anthing like this. Can you help me determine what it is.

Hi Bonnie, could be tent caterpillar or fall webworm. I would suggest contacting your local Extension office for local info. please use this website to find an office near you. http://texasextension.tamu.edu/
