Suddenly in the last three days our Corkscrew Hazel tree has about 1/3 of its branches looking like they are dead. The leaves are all brown and dried looking. It is 15-20 feet tall. We did not plant the tree - we have lived year only 2 years. Can you please help? Thanks!

Hi Connie, I have seen fungal cankers on hazel that causes branches to die. I would suggest bringing in a sample to our office with pix if possible. 801 north country fair drive champaign or send a sample to U of I plant clinic. http://plantclinic.cropsci.uiuc.edu/ hope this helps, sandy
