What type of programs have you offered to the youth of Champaign County?

Were they successful? What are you doing now to create more opportunities to those of all incomes?

Tiffany,

I saw that this question did not have an answer listed, but I thought I responded to you at the time that you wrote it. Sometimes answers don't post to the threads on this website, especially if I ask another educator to answer it for me.

We always have our programs listed on our website at www.extension.uiuc.edu/champaign on the calendar section. Currently it's the beginning of the 4-H year, and information about that is posted there. We offer a variety of programming in school, after school, through traditional 4-H, and special events like Baby sitting classes, Girl Talk at local libraries, and our Family Nutrition Program classes at various sites. Yes, they are successful. 4-H is over 100 years old and going strong. We have a popular 4-H camp experience each summer and scholarships to camp are available thanks to our local 4-H Foundation. For the most up to date information, see our website. Also click on our newsletter, Extension Connection, which is also posted on the web site.
