I have a globe willow tree that is shedding excessive bark only from the trunk. There is not any sap or white fungus stuff under it nor any bugs. I thought it was just becuase the tree is growing so fast. My Husband thinks something is wrong. The trunk was about an inch around when we got it 5 years ago. Could it be diseased? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi Donna, Willows as with many trees will naturally shed bark as they age. if you are not seeing the white inner bark I imagine it is natural shedding. Willows do get some canker diseases. you are welcome to email me pictures if you like. Sandy
