Japanese Maple Bloodgood

I live near farmland to the North and East (only one other house to the East). We have no mature trees and would like to put in a Bloodgood. Our house faces East. Where would it be most likely to survive the wind, winter and sun or should I give up owning one?

Hi Juleigh, Japanese maples need a protected area so may be tough for you but usually the east side of the house can work since most of our winds are out of the north, west and south. be sure to mulch with 3-4 inches of mulch and water during droughts even once it has been there for a few years. Sandy
