privet hedge

I want to trench next to a privet hedge for a direct bury underground electric line.

I will be trenching approximatly 16" from the hedge and 18" deep.

Will this damage the hedge?

Hi Daniel, Privet are pretty tough plants. I would imagine they would do just fine. If they do die back some they can be rejuvenated in the spring by cutting them down to 8inches or so off the ground.
