Soil retention plants

I have some property on a lake near Kickapoo. The land has a large hill on it that is erroding. We would like to know what types of grass, plants, and trees we can plant on it to help stop the erosion of the soil.

The property is mostly sunny with a few shady areas.

Thanks,

Leslie

HI Leslie, sounds like a lovely place. plants can help but if erosion is so severe even the plants can't hold it. I would recommend contacting your local Natural Resources Conservation Service. I believe you need to talk to someone who can look at the total picture and give suggestions on how to alleviate the erosion beyond plants. here is their info DANVILLE SERVICE CENTER 1905A US ROUTE 150 DANVILLE, IL 61832-5396 (217) 442-8511 good luck, Sandy
