We have growths on our evergreen trees that look like a brain with little spikes coming out of them. We've never seen anything like it & haven't been able to find anything on the internet to figure out what it is. Do you have any suggestions? Tammy L.

HI Tammy, weird huh? kind of like Medusa of mythology. It sounds like cedar- apple rust. it is a fungus. check out this website for more info. http://urbanext.illinois.edu/focus/cedarapplerust.html Not a big problem for the evergreen (I assume they are junipers/red cedars) the tips of the branches sometimes die back. You may also want to check with your local Purdue extenson office. please use this website to find the one nearest you. http://www.ag.purdue.edu/Extension/Pages/ConsumerHorticulture.aspx Happy gardening, Sandy
