My daughter-in-law and I have Clematis vines that are not blooming. I have a white one that has already bloomed but my small flowered purple one is growing beautifully but not blooming. My daughter-in-law has a very healthy Jackman growing like crazy but no blooms. We have both seen other Jackmans blooming in our area. What gives?

Hi Jeanne, I noticed some seem to be a bit slow this year. maybe because it has been relatively cool. I assume they are getting plenty of sun. Also depending on the pruning technique some could bloom later with heavier pruning or winter dieback. If they are growing well I'm not sure what else you can do but wait. maybe they are "late bloomers". ;) happy gardening. Sandy
