Thistles in neighboring field

Abutting my lawn, there is an empty field that my neighbor planted in wild flowers about three years ago, but so far has produced a lot weeds, a few black-eyed susan and VERY many thistle plants. He lets the thistle go to seed and this year I have thistles all over my yard. What can I do?

Hi Julia, First you may want to talk to the neighbor. If you are in town you can check with village officials if county then check with township road commissioner. unfortunately most areas do not have weed commissioners that would handle this directly so you may have to check around to see who might also talk to the neighbor. good luck,
