snipping off geranium

Something is snipping off my geranium. It is planted in a pot with petunias. Doesn't look like the geranium is being eaten, just cut off and some pieces are laying out side of the pot on the ground. The petunias don't appear nibbled, but the geranium has been cut almost to the non-survival stage. I also noticed that one of my tomato plants (not in the same area) has been eaten to the stock. I'm suspecting rabbits on the tomato, but what about the geranium? Cut worm? Thanks.

Hi Julia, My guess is rabbits. they can easily jump into pots on the ground. rabbit damage is generally a clean 45 degree angle cut so pretty dstinctive. cutworms cut right at the soil line. might try chicken wire or other fencing or repellants.
