My apple trees have brown dead leaves on the tips of some of the branches. I have never had this problem before. What could it be?

Hi Karen, It's tough to say without pix or a sample. It could be fireblight. With fireblight the tips usually bend down like a shepherds crook at the ends. may want to take a sample to your local UI extension. you can use this website to find the one nearest you. http://web.extension.illinois.edu/state/index.html
