I have several mature silver maples that are producing large amounts of sap to the point where everything in the yard is sticky and I have to clean my car windshields every day. This has never happened in the past. Any idea why? Thank you.

HI Tim, I suspect its not the trees but what is in the trees. Insects such as aphids and some scale can give off a sticky honeydew. might want to investigate further. normally we don't need to treat for these insects but in this case you may want to. I suspect you will need a professional tree service. hope this helps. Sandy
