I have a few species of prairie tall grasses, some are over 8 foot and with thinks stems. I wonder if it is important to cut them down so they could grow stronger. And from esthetic view, is it look better by cutting them down in the spring? I basically want to save the trouble of not trimming them down? May I know your opinion.

HI Lei, yes they should be cut down within 8 inches or so of the ground now. you can use electric hedge trimmers if you like. it makes it a little easier. Sandy
