redbud trees

I have 16 redbud trees in pots that I sprouted from seeds in the spring of 2010. Protected them through the winter and now they are back out in partial shade. The new growth at the end of the limbs of every plant is yellowing and curling up. The leaves still look viable rather than drying and wilting but are certainly abnormal. Any ideas. Thanks

HI Tom, yellowing may be an indication of low nitrogen so may want to fertilize or can occur in overly wet soils. also redbuds are very sensitive to drift from broadleaf weed killers used for dandelions. they usually grow out of it if it was just a slight drift.
