Hard maple tree

My tree is several years old but not a large one. The leaves every year partially turn brown. This year they looked partly scalded, like a frost had wilted them, but the whole leaf is not affected. However this ruins the look of the tree and it never has the bright color in the Fall like other hard maples. The tree is growing; otherwise, it looks healthy. It was moved 3 times when small. Could this be a factor?

Hi Alice. all that moving would certainly delay its ability to be established and grow well. transplant shock could cause the symptoms you describe. fall color can be quite variable in sugar maples (i assume this is what you mean by hard maple) they can be red or yellow so unless it was purchased specifically for a certain fall color you may not have what you want. I woud give it some time and tender loving care. mulch, water during droughts and try not to move it anymore. ;) Sandy
