We had a new lawn put in last fall. The new seed was covered with straw. The grass is now growing nicely but so is a lighter green straight weed. Could this be from the straw? If so, what can we do together rid of it.

Hi Beverly, it certainly could be from the straw. typically not a problem since wheat does not tolerate mowing at short heights of a lawn so it dies out. may want to check with your local Extension office here is your state website to find the office nearest you. http://extension.psu.edu/ Sandy
