WE JUST NOTICED SWARMS OF SMALL HARD SHELL BEETLES ON THE FOUNDATION OF OUR BULDINGS, MAINLY WHERE THERE IS DIRECT SUNLIGHT. THEY RESEMBLE LADYBUGS BUT HAVE MORE BLACK ON THEM AND ARE ALOT SMALLER.

Hi Ray, this is the time of year when many insects are emerging from hibernation and from eggs. I would really have to see a picture or one of the insects to give you a better idea. you are welcome to email me a pix slmason@illinois.edu or take a couple insects to your local UI Extension office http://web.extension.illinois.edu/ccdms/ sorry I couldn't help further. sandy
