I cleaned out my pantry and am wondering if the old spices and herbs are ok to put in the composting bin? These are all grown spices, bay leaves, oregeno, basil, Mrs. Dash brands, no additives. Also powered, like mustard, paprika, etc. Thank you.

HI Helen, You are doing what we all need to do - clean out the out dated herbs and spices. and yes it is just fine to put these in your composting bin. i would recommend mixing with other compostables, vegetable wastes such as carrot ends so you don't end up with globs of spices.
