hi Danny, Bald cypress have few insect and disease problems. not sure what is going on, obviously we expect needles to turn brown in fall since they are deciduous. also this year it should have gotten plenty of rain. i suggest carefully digging around the base of the tree to make sure there are no girdling roots. is the tree putting on any new growth? i also suggest contacting your local UI Extension office. http://web.extension.illinois.edu/lmw/ they may be able to provide more info or can send a picture through our digital distance diagnostics. sandy
