Pesticides

I am moving to a new house with an orchard across the road. The owner of the orchard regularly sprays pesticides. How can I best protect my young children and what should I be aware of as a neighbor to this activity? Do I have any rights that will help me protect my family

Thank you.

Angela, This would be an excellent time to get to know your neighbor. In a friendly manner introduce yourself and just let them know you have young children and you would like to know the day before they plan on spraying. Generally farmers are very willing to work with neighbors and are very conscientious about their spraying such as not spraying when too windy etc. They have to keep their bees happy and healthy too. On another note orchards are wonderful places for kids. Welcome to your new home!
